Favorite TV Shows for 2012

What TV Shows do you like in 2012

Do you spend a lot of time watching tv? Seems like the tv is on all the time. What are your favorites and what makes you jump up to turn the channel? Sometimes you just like to have something in the background. Some of your favorite shows sometimes meet an early demise and there is nothing really that you can do about it.

Weigh in and give your opinion on some of the best shows on television.

Television Law Shows

The Good Wife and a bunch of other law shows make you think twice about becoming a lawyer. All the dirty and underhanded things that go on behind the scenes make these shows keep your attention.

There is no better tv than the Law and Order series. It is really a shame that the mother ship was taken down. Law and Order: SVU still keeps chugging but the new cast changes kind of threw me off, but I guess that is staying true to the law and order brand. They use to change the cast a lot in the past on the original. Law and Order: Criminal Intent was the one I enjoyed probably the most. When detective Bobby Goren got you in the box and got in your face, that was it. It is great to still be able to see these episodes in syndication.

TV Morning Shows

What do you like to watch during the morning? The morning news is usually the place to start. You get an update on all the stuff that has happened overnight and you get an update on the weather. The local news always has its own personality.

When it comes to the network morning news shows, CBS is probably the best for me. They just made a big change to the format and it reminds me of CNN. The regular morning talk show seems to be going through big changes. Now the CBS Morning Show is more like Morning Joe or one of the cable networks. I think it was the right move to go futuristic. Instead of that one camera angle now you have moving cameras and roundtables. I guess the discussing the news at the coffee table type of morning show is going away just like the soap operas.

TV Game Shows in the Morning

Game shows will always be high on the list when it comes to morning tv. They are fun and exciting. You always watch for the audience member that has a chance to win a new car. I guess I keep the tv stuck on cbs, because Let's Make a Deal is the only show that makes my list. Lets make a deal is great because they have fun on the show. The decision to take the money vs what is behind the door is great tv. Wayne Brady really fits this role. The people that create those zonk prizes should get an award. It is pure comedy and you really feel good for the people that win the big deals. Trips, computers cars and the big deal make this show good to watch and a favorite.

The price is right is another good game show. Coming up with the actual retail price of products is smart and entertaining at the same time. You are thinking about how much the products are and the next time you go to the grocery store you may pay closer attention to the pricing. Those people at the price is right are brilliant. Entertainment and product marketing at its best. Still a fun show to watch on occasion.

TV Judge Shows

Can you turn on the television at any time of the day and not see a judge show. You have to admit that they are entertaining. I still don't understand what would make someone go on one of these shows. But, I guess it makes for good tv. I guess people love to get yelled at by Judge Judy. Judge Mathis is probably the best one on tv today.

I guess these shows provide some redeeming value in that you can learn information about the law. Maybe it will help some people decide to make better decisions. This type of show will probably never go out of style. People are going to always have problems and this makes for some interesting tv.

British TV Shows

If you really love tv then you will want to checkout netflix. They give you access to more than just american tv shows. You can find some real gems at netflix.

Here are just a few tv shows that you can checkout.

MI-5

This show just got cancelled but it was excellent tv. Harry Pierce was the leader of the security force for Great Britain. The show was all actions and intrigue. The characters would change all the time and the stories were attention grabbing. Sorry to see this one go. You will notice a big difference in the way action and drama is handled in England. The stories are great and the reduced sounds and movements on the screen make you focus much more on what is being presented.

Hotel Babylon

Take a look at behind the scenes view of the hotel industry. It is a light comedy and entertaining. When you don't have anything else to watch try hotel babylon.

A bunch of good british inspector series

Inspector Morse

A Touch of Frost

Trial and Retribution

Miss Marple

Waking the Dead

and the list goes on and on and on.

Cable TV Shows

More of the really good shows are located on cable tv. I never thought that I would ever watch a show about serial killers but Dexter is the best. Did you avoid this show because of the topic? Some kind of way I ended up seeing a little bit of an episode and the rest is history. Showtime really knows how to make good shows.

Spartacus: Blood and Sand

Cable really brings it now. You can't get tv this good on the network. They just can't compete. It is drama and kind of a history lesson on how tough people had it in the past.

Weeds

I really liked the first few season of weeds. Then it kind of started to go down hill. I still watch but the original cast members back in agrustic were more entertaining. Characters have to grow.

Breaking Bad

This show is off the hook. They get you at the theme music. The story line is off the chain and they keep coming up with shocking changes that you don't expect. How do they stay off the radar? My favorite is the lawyer. He even has his own website. Better call Saul!

Reality TV Shows

There are tons of reality tv shows but the ones that get my attention are like storage wars. These kind of behind the scenes shows are entertaining and educational. I did not know that people were making big bank with buying storage lockers.

Storage Wars, Parking Wars and Deadliest Catch are some of the favorites. These shows show real people in their daily lives. They may be playing certain situations up for the camera but it is really good entertainment.

You never really know what to expect when you watch reality tv. Do you watch the Jersey Shore? People become instant celebrities and household names when they get on reality shows. You know who snooki is. You know the situation. It is hard not to watch some of these shows. They are just a part of the american culture.
